More nail biting…

I’m a little late for any ROW80 updates or WIPpet Wednesday, but a lot has happened in the last couple of weeks! Last Wednesday, I had a post all ready to go about how I got these goals done:

1. Revise SMALL TOWN LOVE based on editor, agent and CP feedback.

2.  Submit STL to Harlequin.

10. Blog my progress throughout, visit ROW80 and WIPpet bloggers, and at the end of the 80 days, re-evaluate my goals and where I’m at.

Yep, I submitted STL to Harlequin. And before I could hit post, I got an email back from the American Romance editor, telling me, sure, go ahead and send the outlines for the next two books in the series. Uh huh. I decided at the last minute to try and pitch for a three-book deal. AGH.

So then, had to revise my goals for this last week to just focus on outlining the next two books. And I did it! Sent and the editor confirmed she received them today.

*sweats profusely*

In light of all of this wonderful Harlequin activity and the fact that I banged out two 3,000ish word outlines in just a few days (I’m so excited about them, I’ll be writing A BRIDE FOR THE SHERIFF and WILD AT HEART either way!) that I’m going to try and keep up my Harlequin momentum and focus on finishing CHARMING CORA. It’s already about 90 pages and I’ve got an informal request from someone from the Harlequin Desire line to read it… so. Gonna git it done!

So, here’s my goal list as it stands now:

1. Finish rough draft of CHARMING CORA.

10. Blog my progress throughout, visit ROW80 and WIPpet bloggers, and at the end of the 80 days, re-evaluate my goals and where I’m at.

To be specific and measurable, I’m going to try and have at least 8,000 more words done on CORA by next Wednesday, when I will check in on time and link up with both ROW80 and WIPpet writers.

Happy almost-Halloween, y’all! 😀

      • Totally understandable. It helps me if I’m doing something, like working on the next book in the series while I’m waiting. Hopefully you’ll be able to find something that helps calms the nerves for you. And celebrate a little, because it’s awesome.
