Hungover #AtoZChallenge

I’m not hungover, but that’s kind of how I feel right now. In pursuit of my overarching goal of productivity, I got up at 5:00 AM instead of 5:55 AM like I usually do.

Tomorrow, I think I’ll scale it back to 5:50.

  1. I know that feeling. I usually have to be up to wake my wife at 5:30 and see her off to work. This week she’s been off for Spring Break and I was hoping to sleep in every day. One day I made it to a bit past six, but every other day I’ve been up between 4:30 and 5:30 like usual. I’m always tired and feeling a bit hungover in the mornings.

    • Are you a coffee drinker, Arlee? I hear that helps, but I can only do decaf or it makes my stomach hurt. Probably allergic. Exercise is supposed to be good to wake you up, too, but I think I’m allergic to that, too. 🙂

      • Funny you should mention that since I do usually drink about 3 cups of coffee in the morning and it seems to make me sleepier. Of course I put a lot of sweetened creamer in my coffee so that is undoubtedly part of the problem. The real sleepiness usually hits me after lunch and I’ll almost always take an average of a 15 minute nap to recharge me and then I feel much better throughout the rest of the day.

I think I’m allergic to exercise as well. Sometimes I’ll take a walk at about 9 AM and that can help. I never do any exercise that’s too vigorous as I have a heart condition that won’t allow it.

      • I admire you for limiting your naps to 15 minutes. On the weekends, I have a hard time limiting mine to an hour or two. And I’m sorry about your heart condition–I’m glad you know your limits, though, with exercise, so you can keep yourself healthy!

  2. Seems like a lot of blogs I’m reading today are about sleep or the lack of it. Is A to Z taking its toll?

I never know when I’m going to wake up. My best time is between 5:00 and 5:30, but sometimes it’s much earlier, and occasionally I “sleep in” until 7:00. I try to keep my rising time consistent, but it’s been whacked out lately.

    • I try to have a consistent wake up time, but it only works for me Monday through Friday because it has to. If I get up before 7:00 on a weekend, I feel cheated. 🙂
